The meeting on Thursday proved to be a great success, Dave Thorton provided a great deal of information on the growing of vegetables and everyone in the room learnt a great deal from the talk. It is clear that Dave has a great deal of knowledge and experience in terms of growing, unlike some of the top growers he is keen to share this knowledge.

Dave presented the audience with a number of facts that took the audience by surprise, like treating the potatoes with foliar feed while they are chitting and use salt when growing beetroot.

A number of people that came to the shed on Saturday were saying how much they enjoyed the talk as well as learning a great deal.

We will be making sure that the shed is stocked up with Epsom Salts for use with Tomato plants, remember it needs to be used as a foliar feed when the flowers are forming to prevent blossom end rot.
